Anomaly Detection
Cost anomaly detection
The ODJ is able to track costs for a Product historically. This allows us to identify cost increases and to differentiate between a trend and an anomaly.
Anomalies are implying cost increases which lay above a value that we in the ODJ consider a "normal" trend. For this, we calculate an upper bound for the daily costs spend on every service, and in every environment the service is consumed by the Product.
Once the upper bound is reached, the ODJ assumes that costs are increasing to rapidly and makes sure to inform the responsible people for a Product.
Cost anomaly detection is currently the only type of anomaly detection happening in the ODJ.
Other anomalies detection
In the future, the ODJ will provide anomaly detection for other metrics as well, such as:
- Error rate / Failed requests
- Traffic
- Quality of a Product etc.
